McIntosh like fruit is scab free. Tough until fully ripe. Keeps very well in cold storage (through the winter). Developed in 1948 at Ottawa Research Station in Canada. Ripens in mid October at Walden Heights most years, benefiting from a long fall. Cold hardy.
