Description
Large yellow apple, developing pink or orange blush late in the season. Very mild, acid free flavor. Good apple for those who cannot tolerate high degree of malic acid. Categorized as a “sweet”. We have rarely seen scab on this variety in Walden. Productive tree is relatively vigorous. Ripens early to mid October in northern New England. Marketed by 1963 but certainly older. North Dakota apple. Named after the Wodarz family that discovered it. Stores well. Cold hardy to zone 3 at least.
