Description
American heirloom apple. New York origin around 1806. This is a small to medium sized apple of full flavor. Bronze, orange and red skin with fine textured, yellowish juicy flesh. Tree grows slowly but bears young. Thin twigs with a dense crown. It may be the offspring of the English Summer Pearmain (dating back to the 1500s). Ripens in northern Vermont in early September most years.
