Description
All purpose cold hardy apple. This is a very good storage apple (3-4 months) and a fair stand-in for Northern Spy (more precocious). Nice berry notes, and slow oxidizing (long time to brown so great in salads and lunchboxes). Canadian origin (1935 Ottawa). Ripens in mid October in northern Vermont. Red/orange patched skin with mid-textured flesh.
