Rare Vermont heirloom. Green, medium to large apple with sweet/tart flavor. Cold hardy, tough tree. Received its name due to the original tree being a depository (really a hiding place) for liquor of workmen, so the story goes. All purpose. Ripens in early October in northern Vermont.
