Description
This is a full sweet apple (low acid). Good for those who like a mellow dessert apple. Most use it as a sweet cooking apple and in reductions that increase the sugar content without raising acidity. This is a Walden Heights release from open pollinated antonovka. Fruit is large, yellow to green/yellow. Picked early for pie additions. Keeps 2 months in cold storage. Ripens in early to mid Octobr in northern Vermont. Formerly sold as Antonovka 54 by WHNO. Very cold hardy, vigorous and productive tree. Introduced 1991.
