Description

Antonovka Petite is a small yellow skinned apple with rich flavor and high acid. A Walden Heights Orchard introduction (around 1990), in northern Vermont. This is a very cold hardy and productive tree. Often annual, but with high and low years of production. Excellent cider addition. Can be eaten fresh, but is tarter than most. Good culinary use. Ripens in northern Vermont in late August most years. Keeps 4-6 weeks in cold storage. Vigorous and well branched tree (good crotch angles). Good selection for the north. White blooms, is a good pollenizer. Open pollinated selection of antonovka.
