Description

Yellow apple with red splashing and scattered russeting. Rich, juicy moderately aromatic flavor with white to slightly yellow flesh. Moderately tender. Excellent dessert apple, but all purpose. Ripens here in Walden in early to mid October most years. High productivity. High brix most years, commonly 16 percent, making this a good cider apple for imparting sugar content. Moderately slow to oxidize (flesh browning). Vigorous tree habit. Fruit hangs decently at ripeness. Adam’s is a Pennsylvania heirloom, being named after the originator James Adams from White Deer township. Recorded 1853, but older.
