Description
A red-fleshed apple native to Asia. Early picked fruit will have red and white splashing in the flesh turning a full deep pink/red at maturity. Not a dessert apple but great in ciders and for cooking. Rich magenta blooms. This was used extensively in the breeding of many ornamental crabapples include Albert Etters 30+ releases. Discovered in Turkistan in the 1800s by Vladislav Niedziecki (thus the name). Medium vigor. Spur bearing. Cold hardy at least to zone 4.
